TUNG—Another great WEBPICK

This is a really super-clean and somewhat unusual portfolio website that I found on Commarts.com. It was a Webpick of the Day on February 5, just a couple of days ago. It's for a new Toronto-based design agency called Tung—which specializes in graphic design and art directions—founded by Emily Tu and Edmond Ng (That's where the name comes from).

Tu and Ng write, "Our practice developed out of a shared desire to create honest, intelligent and beautifully crafted work. We take a grounded and considered approach to design. Our process is decidedly personal – we collaborate with our clients to create thoughtful and compelling responses that reflect their needs and values. Over the last few years, we have created award-winning identities, packaging, publications, printed material, and websites for a wide range of clients – both large and small – in the public, private and cultural sectors."

The landing page, as you will see, is pretty unique and clever! What I really like about this site, however, is that it is SO minimalistic! The work they do is featured in quite large boxes which have multiple views, like mini slide shows. The type couldn't be plainer. And, there aren't even any icons for the social medias, just the lower-case abbreviations! Love it. No icons, just plain text for everything. I love the fact that the work, the most important thing, is what the site focuses on, and in a big way. The site is great, AND, I'm really liking the work they do.
